U.S. President Barack Obama will visit the island of Bali and Australia mid-November, the White House said on Monday (9/12/2011). His visit to Bali would be the second visit to Indonesia, where he spent his childhood. Obama's visit to Indonesia earlier in November last year is a series of trips to Asia.
Meanwhile, a visit to Australia will be the first after twice canceled last year due to problems in the domestic U.S.
Obama will be in Australia from November 16 to 17 after hosting the annual summit of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation in the kelahirnya, Hawaii, and will travel to Bali to attend the East Asia Summit, said the White House.
According to the White House, in Australia which is one of the closest U.S. partners in the Asia-Pacific, Obama will attend the 60th anniversary of the ANZUS alliance and held talks with Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard on cooperation to promote global economic growth, trade, and employment growth. Obama canceled a visit to Australia in March 2010 in order to remain the U.S. in order to encourage health improvement plan through Congress. Another canceled a planned visit in June last year so he could handle an oil spill that leaked from the BP drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.
