Kamasan Art Village Will be Opens


Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Indonesia, Mari Elka Pangestu will inaugurate the village of Kamasan, Bali, as a village of art.

"It will be held on Wednesday (14/12)," said Coordinator of Kampung BNI Art, I Gede Eka Wedasmara, while performing arts free treatment to the craftsmen in the village of Kamasan, Monday. He said with the launch of Kamasan village as a village of art, he hoped the village which is famous for its distinctive art of painting Kamasan will be more familiar to many tourists.

The artwork is still enshrined in the historic building Kertagosa within approximately 40 Kilometers from the city of Denpasar. In addition to painting Kamasan, one of the typical souvenirs of the area is “kepeng” (Bali coin with hole inside) and various handicrafts from silver and gold.

"Hopefully it's an art craft activities more excited with the packaging as the village of Kamasan art," he said.

Meanwhile, specific to the activities of free treatment, it involves hundreds of artisans in the tourist areas. According to Eka, the activities assist by BNI Bali and cooperate fully with the Department of Health Klungkung. In addition to free treatment is also conducted on the introduction of accident and health, also “Arja” art performances.

"This activity is done to improve the lives of the craftsmen," she said.
